Ballet Concerto, a non-profit ballet company under the artistic direction of Margo Dean, was incorporated in 1969 for the specific purpose of presenting the art of ballet and other forms of dance to audiences of all ages and socio-economic backgrounds. Ballet Concerto is dedicated to continuing this tradition with a focus on providing lecture/demonstrations and other dance programs to school-aged children. In an attempt to extend even further its outreach and to reach families who might not otherwise experience the beauty and excitement of a live performance, Ballet Concerto has presented annually since 1983 the SUMMER DANCE CONCERT, an outdoor dance concert presented in Fort Worth's cultural district. Ballet Concerto also provides an outlet for talented young dancers and offers employment to local professionals as well as guest artists. Choreographers of national and international repute as well as emerging choreographers are invited to choreograph. Dancers are selected from the school, from open auditions, and by invitation to participate in company performances.
